The course is divided into two key components: Ilm ul Nahu (Syntax) and Ilm ul Sarf (Morphology). These areas form the bedrock of Arabic grammar, enabling students to develop a clear understanding of both sentence construction and word formation in Arabic.

Phase 1: Introduction to Ilm ul Nahu (Arabic Syntax)

In this phase, students will begin with the very basics of Nahu (syntax), learning the core principles and terms used in Arabic grammar. This includes understanding how sentences are structured and the roles of different words within those sentences.

• Introduction to Arabic Grammar Terms – Learn the key terms and definitions of Arabic grammar, including Ism (noun), Fi’l (verb), Harf (particle), and Khabar (predicate).
• Simple Sentence Structures – Learn how basic Arabic sentences are formed, with a focus on Mubtada (subject) and Khabar (predicate). Study nominal sentences and verbal sentences, and how to identify the subject and predicate within them.
• I'raab (Case Endings) – Learn the concept of case endings for nouns, adjectives, and verbs. Understand the different cases: Nominative (Raf’), Accusative (Nasb), and Genitive (Jarr), and how they affect sentence meaning.
• Basic Sentence Analysis – Begin analyzing simple Arabic sentences for their grammatical structure, identifying subjects, objects, and complements.

Phase 2: Introduction to Ilm ul Sarf (Arabic Morphology)

In this phase, students will dive into the morphology of Arabic, focusing on how words are formed and derived from their root letters. This includes understanding verb forms, noun derivation, and the different patterns that Arabic words follow.

• Roots and Patterns – Introduction to the root system in Arabic, understanding how words are derived from trilateral roots (Masdar). Learn the basic patterns of Arabic verbs and nouns and how these patterns affect their meaning.
• Verb Conjugation – Study how to conjugate regular verbs in the present, past, and future tense. Learn about verb forms and their role in altering meaning (e.g., form I to form X).
• Basic Noun Derivation – Learn how to form different noun types (e.g., Masdar, Ism Faa’il, Ism Maf’ool) from verb roots. Study basic Arabic noun types and their usage in sentences.
• Exercises and Practice – Regular exercises from both the syllabus books and additional resources to reinforce the grammar learned. Practical exercises involving Quranic verses and Qasas un Nabiyeen (stories of the Prophets), helping students grasp grammar concepts in context.
